The hugely talented Graham High is our guest artist for September
Graham High

Graham's incredible career began at Leeds University with a BA in Fine Art in the 70's and progressed to the Natural History Museum in London where he worked as scientific model-maker/3D designer.  From 1980 to 2007 he followed a high profile career in film, working as an Animatronic Model Designer and sculptor.

Over the course of his career, Graham has had more than 40 solo exhibitions in the UK, as well as having been invited to stage major personal expositions in Spain, Russia and Latvia. He was elected a life member of the Royal Society of Sculptors (MRSS) in 1994.

You will know Graham from the trolls and the snake in the early Harry Potter films and the Alien in the 1980's film Aliens to name but 2 of the 40 films he has worked on.

Graham is showing a selection of biomorphic forms and some of his very latest work. His excitement with organic abstraction comes from his appreciation that, through abstract shapes, one can engage with abstract subjects, for example: growth, birth, death, relationships, yearning, sensuality, and aspiration.

Graham has worked on the live action FX of over 40 films including ‘Aliens’, ‘Babe’, ‘Willow’, ‘The English Patient’, ‘101 Dalmatians’, ‘Labyrinth’ and the ‘Harry Potter’ series. He was frequently a part of a team which were awarded OSCARs, EMMYs etc and he received a personal BAFTA in 2001.

Please join us and Graham on the evening of the 5th September and find out more about his incredible career and experiences across a diverse creative world. Definitively not to be missed!

Many thanks and we look forward to seeing you in the gallery very soon.
