Temple & Presents Elisabeth Tetlow at the Manchester Art Fair 2025

Temple &, a new arts organisation supporting emerging artists across fine art, film, and fashion, is proud to present British painter Elisabeth Tetlow at the Manchester Art Fair 2025.

The presentation features a selection of Tetlow’s intricate landscape works, including Cross Stitched, an oil on gesso panel that exemplifies her intuitive “spontaneous hand” method and her delicate “noughts and crosses” technique. Trained at The King’s Foundation School of Traditional Arts, Tetlow works with hand-ground pigments and miniature-inspired detailing, merging earthy English woodland tones with vivid cobalt blues and greens that pulse with an almost digital energy. Leaves, lichens, and tree forms appear with stitched, meditative precision.

In Cross Stitched, a quiet portal of light opens within the composition, suggesting a threshold into an inner space or unseen dimension. Painted during a period when Tetlow broke her wrist, the noughts-and-crosses marks became both a visual structure and an act of personal repair woven directly into the surface.

Exhibiting in Manchester holds deep meaning for Tetlow, whose father is from the city and whose extended family has followed her artistic evolution for years. Pamala Temple—who first met Tetlow in a Jungian dream group—supports emerging artists whose work speaks to both the eye and the inner world.
