Women In Art Fair / Frieze Art Week
I was recently invited to participate as a 'Spotlight Artist' as part of a new exhibition during London Frieze art week called the Women in Art Fair at the prestigious Mall Galleries. The fair is a brilliant initiative; which aims to champion and celebrate the work of women artists, offering each of them an amazing platform to have their work seen by collectors, and art media-all on an international stage.
I showed two paintings 'Home Turf' and 'Dreepin'. These paintings explored the theme of the power and effects of nature on human consciousness and unlocking the ancient wisdoms and unique energies that reside in the landscapes.
The paintings were created using a number of personalised studio rituals including sound vibrations and specially selected studio aromas. I refer to these pictorials as 'portals' as I believe they allow the viewer to escape momentarily; a cognitive aid such as this is much needed in an increasingly volatile world.
