Made by Joe Hartley and the ANEW recovery community, these teapots feature glazes produced from horsetail, a plant often considered invasive or unwanted. They were presented in Castlefield Gallery’s 2025 exhibition Anew Way to Peel an Orange and featured in Collaborative, an interdisciplinary exhibition for London Design Festival 2025. Transforming overlooked natural materials into beautiful, functional ceramics, the teapots celebrate the unexpected possibilities of plants and challenge our assumptions about what we value.
