The work is a memorial to the painter Lee Krasner, referencing her paint stained boots which are on display at Jackson Pollock’s studio; Krasner loomed large in Pollock’s work. I wanted to re-make the image of these boots to fit my own feet, to pay homage to the influence of Krasner in my early work, and the role of citation more broadly within the development of my practice.
