The current works are about freezing the potential and liquidity of spontaneity into a half imagined physical form.

These ‘figures’ are deliberately vague and intended to be ‘completed’ by the viewer. They pertain to the fact that 80% of our looking is in fact memory, so suggestions of features will ignite the viewer’s memory into ‘completing’ or imagining a greater level of figuration than is actually present within the work.

The initial forms are made with scrap materials and completed in one short session of making in order to capture the raw essence of spontaneous expressive making with no real planning or premeditation. The ‘idea’ and final form presents and emerges through the making process.
