This work is inspired by Half Moon Bay, Heysham, on the northwest coast of the UK where the artist lives.  Heysham has been a significant place of worship over hundreds of years and Christie taps into this spiritual wellspring, living a meditative life of observation and connection to place.  Painting with looseness, fluidity and spontaneity, there are no intentional outcomes but what is seen each day makes its own presence on paper or canvas.
